Pain Management

Chronic pain can really bring down the quality of a person’s life. In fact, pain can lead to dwindling spiral, where patients do not take the steps to get well, as they are in pain, and this lack of positive activity can then lead to more pain and unwellness. Managing pain is an important part of health and wellness, and Sonoran Aesthetics and Wellness recognizes the benefits of reducing our clients discomfort.

What Is Pain Management?

Pain Management consists of using different techniques and treatments to help relieve both acute and chronic pain.

Once accurately diagnosed, early intervention can speed the healing process and prevent further injury.

Pain can be managed in a variety of ways. Your healthcare provider should perform a thorough assessment and physical exam to help him or her tailor an individual treatment plan that best meets your needs.

LED Light Therapy

Light-emitting diode (LED) therapy is used to treat acne, wrinkles, and pain.

Blue Light Therapy For Acne: How this works is specific wavelengths of the blue light target the bacteria that causes acne. This light will develop oxygen radicals that kill P. acne bacteria without damaging healthy skin.

Red Light Therapy For Wrinkles: How this works is the wavelengths of red light that can help improve the skin’s barrier function by improving the ability to retain key elements. The key elements needs to heal and generate new collagen after the production has been slowed from age or cumulative damage.

Near-Infrared LED Therapy for Pain: Designed to treat minor muscle pains, joint pains, stiffness, arthritis, muscle spasms, and other body pains. This form of LED light therapy penetrates the skin and then is absorbed by the mitochondria–the energy or powerhouse of the cell. Because of this increase in metabolism of the collective cells, healing is stimulated in muscle, bone, skin and subcutaneous tissue. Speeding up the healing process relieves pain more quickly.

Joint Injections

Joint injection is an injection of steroids or other medications into a joint space.

The purpose of joint injection is meant to reduce the swelling of tissue and/or inflammation in the joint space. This may help reduce any pain for a few hours. Your joint may be sore for a few days from the injection, then you’re pain will be relieved.

When getting this injection it takes hardly any time at all. The actual injection will only take just a few minutes.

Trigger Point Injections

Trigger Point Injections (TPI) contain a local anesthetic, a saline solution or a type of steroid that can include corticosteroid. Trigger Point Injections help to alleviate the pain associated with muscle pain.

With this procedure, a healthcare professional will insert a small needle into the patient’s trigger point. When getting this treatment it is held in a doctor’s office and only takes a few minutes. You can get several done in one visit.

This treatment is used to treat muscle groups, in arms, legs, lower back, and neck. Patients suffering from fibromyalgia, tension headaches and  myofascial pain syndrome often seek TPI for relief.
